Reuters reports that Swiss pharmaceutical company Roche has agreed to an exclusive licensing and collaboration deal with U.S. biotech firm Nurix Therapeutics worth up to US$2.3 billion. The agreement focuses on the experimental blood-cancer drug bexobrutideg, a targeted protein degrader, which is planned to enter a phase III clinical trial initiation for chronic lymphocytic leukaemia this summer. According to the report, Nurix will receive US$60 million upfront with potential additional payments tied to development, regulatory and sales milestones. Roche will cover 60% of development costs while Nurix pays 40%, and they will co-commercialize the drug in the United States, where profits and losses will be split equally. Outside the United States, Roche will commercialize the drug and pay royalties to Nurix. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026. Roche’s deputy chief medical officer Stefan Frings said the drug could potentially be launched around 2030 if phase III trials are positive.
